Habitat: Native to meadows, woods, Europe, N. Africa, W. Asia; many hybrids make it a hugely popular garden plant

Field Notes: National flower, symbolizing the new year, in the Kurdish culture; national flower of Wales; in 1804 William Wordsworth wrote lyrical poem about daffodils, I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud… “When all at once I saw a crowd, a host of golden daffodils…”
